ORDINANCE SCTIE/MS No. 65, OF OCTOBER 20, 2026
The Ministry of Health has incorporated into SUS the bone distractors for the treatment of people with craniosynostosis, in accordance with the ministerial protocol.
The technical areas will have a maximum period of 180 days to make the technology available in SUS. The ordinance entered into force on the date of its publication.
Analysis: the ANS Rol already covers the surgical treatment of craniosynostosis, but the ordinance specifically addresses the incorporation of the bone distractors used in the procedure. Because the positive decision of Conitec and the incorporation into SUS have been formally published, Article 10, § 10, of Law No. 9,656/1998 applies, which requires the technology to be included in the Rol within 60 days.
ANS must assess whether the technology requires an express amendment to the Rol or to a Utilization Guideline (Diretriz de Utilização), or whether it is already fully encompassed by the coverage of the existing surgical procedure.
