ANS defends person-centered care and social participation in supplementary health
The National Supplementary Health Agency (ANS) took part, on Tuesday, May 12, in the event “A Voz do Paciente na Saúde Suplementar” (“The Patient’s Voice in Supplementary Health”), organized by Johnson & Johnson, in São Paulo. The meeting brought together representatives of nine patient associations, sector experts and members of the Agency in a space for dialogue aimed at building a supplementary health system that places the patient at the center of decisions.
In the institutional opening, the Agency’s president highlighted the need for a paradigm shift in the care model, moving beyond the logic centered exclusively on payment for isolated procedures. According to Damous, it is essential to move toward continuous care, based on clinical and functional outcomes, care coordination, and actions for promotion, prevention and early diagnosis.
